tkpt is an exploration of the subtle timbres that arise in percussive objects when they are close-miked and amplified. It is inspired by the niche sub-genre of experimental music referred to as “lowercase”, as well as “the Beckett Trilogy”, a series of unrelated novels written by Samuel Beckett from 1947 to 1950. In the novels, spoken language begins to dissolve and the futility of human expression is exposed.
